Adorable bien que réaliste et non conventionnel, plein de dessins, ce livre est incasable, disent les éditeurs. Ils sont attirés par ce regard particulier d'une artiste sur la Grosse Pomme, mais comment ranger une pomme dans une boîte rectangulaire ?
La Grosse Pomme de Virginie, elle , est justement hors des sentiers battus. Par le style, pragmatique, poétique, artistique, par la forme, récit de voyage, guide, journal autobiographique, enquête ?
C'est le propre de Virginie d'être où l'on ne l'attend pas. marrante, sérieuse, cigale, fourmi, femme d'affaires et artiste, la Miss aux mille facettes a trouvé son public avec ce livre. Car pousser les murs d'un livre pour s'y installer, c'est bien le moins que l'on attend d'une artiste. Virginie Sommet sait nous émouvoir , nous surprendre, nous apprendre et nous attacher à elle et à New york . Son livre en langue française s'est fort bien vendu, et la traduction anglaise va sans doute suivre le même chemin.
